Frequently Asked Questions about Digital Nomad Visa Croatia

There are 2 kinds of visas:
- short-term (tourist) visa for up to 90 days,

- long-term (Digital Nomad/temporary visa) visa for longer than 90 days.

The digital nomad term has been redefined in response to COVID-19. Croatia has a temporary visa intended for all people who enjoy the Croatian lifestyle and opportunities while working remotely for a non-Croatian company.

In short, the correct term for a Croatian Digital Nomad visa is a Residence permit. The residence permit is a temporary visa for a period of 12 months.

Everyone!
Croatia’s Digital Nomad visa, i.e. temporary visa,  is intended for third-country citizens (non-EU citizens).  EU and EEA citizens are not allowed to apply for the digital nomad visa (temporary visa) since EU and EEA citizens are entitled to a temporary residence already.

Yes, but we don't recommend it. It's better to go in person.

Croatian bureaucracy is known for not having tech-savvy clerks and follow-ups.

If you wish to give it a try, here is the online application.

  • filled out application,
  • reason of your temporary stay,
  • valid travel document/passport,
  • proof of accommodation,
  • proof of enough means of subsistence,
  • proof of health insurance,
  • criminal background check (apostilled).

Additional requrements your maybe asked for:

  • proof of prepayment of rent,
  • marriage certificate (apostilled)
  • birth certificates (appostiled).

Most of the documents will need to be translated by an official notary. We highly recommend you consult with one of our relocation specialists before starting your application or relocation.

When submitting your application, you will be required to provide your address of stay in Croatia. If this is the first time you are applying and you do not have an address in Croatia, you can provide a temporary address as the address of your intended stay (hostel/hotel if you have a reservation/confirmed reservation of accommodation).

From a technical standpoint, Croatia’s digital nomad visa is not renewable. You need to apply again.
